This morning I got my tired butt up early to go to Man Church. My expectation was that I would hang out with friends, wake up over a Monster and a donut, all while hearing a meaningful message. Instead, they put us to work, organizing 2200 donated gifts for families in need in the community.

Everyone has dreams. It is easy to visualize the life we dream of and deserve. Then why do so many people seem to achieve their dreams while others fall short? There is one characteristic that seems to separate those who "do" from those who "want to". This characteristic is ACTION! People who succeed in life take the time to write down what they want for their life and take steps toward their dreams.

We arrived at the cabin for the summer a few weeks ago.  When we arrive I always do a quick walk through to see how the cabin handled the cold Minnesota winter.  This year, during my walk through, I noticed a skunk in one of the basement window wells.  Unfortunately for him, he didn’t survive the winter.  I only noticed a very faint odor from the skunk, so I made sure the window was sealed and the shade closed.  I then went about enjoying my time with the family, the cabin, the lake . . . the summer.

Today I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary.  This year, we decided, instead of buying each other gifts (thanks to a life in Oola, no need for ties or dress socks anymore), we decided to write “why we love each other, and why we always will “; one for each year of marriage.  For those of you mathematically challenged like me, that is 22 things.  In typical guy style, I am procrastinating until the last minute.  Not because I cannot think of 22 things (I have known this girl since kindergarten so I have lots of material) it is because again, I am a guy, and I am not personally wired to express how I feel in great detail.  My reflex is to write:  1)  Because I love you, 2)  See #1, 3) See #1 . . . you get the point.
