I remember that day as if it was yesterday. The pain enters my mind and my heart on a daily basis even though it happened over four years ago. My soon-to-be ex-wife and I sat down with our five children as if it was a regular evening of prayers, but we had a different agenda. I can literally still feel the words, "Your mom and I are getting divorced," leave my lips. As soon as I spoke those words my life changed forever. The reality is that my financial success isn’t exciting. I didn’t sign a big contract, get gifted millions from a Sheikh, invent Twitter, or become a Trust Fund recipient. I simply followed seven very simple principles and persisted with these principles against a culture that began to embrace debt and immediate gratification as a normal way of life.
